Bucketgirl is a stubborn, kind, adventurous little bucket and a good friend. Although she is quite practical – she is a bucket, after all – Bucketgirl dreams of fantastic, magical things and seems to find adventure wherever she goes. She tries to find the positive in each experience and takes things as they are.
Bucketgirl lives with her dad, Mr Bucket, who works as a janitor in the big city. Because he works nights and sleeps through the day, Bucketgirl is self-reliant and independent. The few hours they get together at the end of each day are precious and they enjoy sharing an extra large cinnamon bun from the famous St Crumbs Bakery.
What is Bucketgirl's special talent?
Bucketgirl is uniquely gifted at carrying heavy items in her head. She is abnormally strong given her small stature, however she is a little top heavy and so prone to toppling over.
What is Bucketgirl afraid of?
Getting caught in a thunderstorm! Not only is the feeling of rain filling her bucket quite unpleasant (just imagine icy water down your back and brain freeze at the same time) but having a head made of tin increases the risk of getting struck by lightning..! In general, Bucketgirl avoids wet weather and bodies of water.
But deeper than that, Bucketgirl is most afraid that she is seen as just a bucket. She is adventurous, creative, stubborn, hot-headed and kind, and yes, she is a bucket, but she’s also so much more if you look beneath the surface.
A little-known fact about Bucketgirl
Bucketgirl has a taste for the fancier fashions in life but it can be hard to find clothes that fit over her head. So she’s become an expert seamstress, able to alter any collar or adapt any neckline to accommodate her peerless proportions. Thrifting and sewing are an integral part of her self-expression and her favourite item is a red coat made of carpet scraps she made with her dad.
